What brands of oil filters would you guys use, other than oem? I need to do an oil change today.

Ended up using the Puralator Pure One.


Now I need to find some good spark plug wires......

Sorry Trae ... i would have recommended WIX filters. I've been told that they bypass later and are better for high demand driving ... autocross/track use. Basically, they filter inder higher pressure than most others.

For a daily driven car, OE, Purolator, M1 are all acceptable. As long as the micron rating is acceptable.

nascar uses WIX so i guess its good if you turn left alot. lol

well, my brother and I are about to start our new project!

We had our 1963 F100 picked up this week and taken to our car lot and we are going to start the resto process on her. Cant wait! I use to drive this truck about 7-8 years ago.

Will, we've got a '53 F100 project back home. Well, not so much "project" as it's sitting in the yard and no one wants to start on it. It's a beautiful truck though and has the FACTORY automatic transmission. Super rare in a '53.

That is cool. Ours is a 63, with a 390? big block, with the auto trans. It is rare because it is the short bed truck, most of the trucks you can find in that year are long beds. Ours has been sitting in a field for at least 6-7 years. Our nick name for it is Mater, cuz it looks like mater off of Cars.

Joey, if the crap that happened to me Sunday was what caused you to wreck, then I understand. My ABS was acting in it's usual crappy way Sunday, but one time it just went rock hard and I had no brakes. I was modulating independently of the ABS and I came off the pedal and then back on and it was like a brick was under the pedal. I think I'm pulling the ABS fuse for autocross from now on.

the abs locked on me when i was up in the mts getting set up for a turn.

i had no brakes and went straight.


yeah pull that abs out when you autox. i think it would be better to lock up the wheels and have some traction than to have abs and have no brakes whatsoever.
