How I'm spending my tax return Empty
PostSubject: How I'm spending my tax return   How I'm spending my tax return EmptySat Jan 12, 2008 1:00 am

I've had my MR for 3 months now and it's completely stock (except swift springs and a perrin shorty). I should be gettin a pretty decent tax return and I'm thinkin bout voiding my warranty so here's the mod list:

AMS TBE w/hi flow cat and CEL fix, Apexi intake and induction box, Forge MBC, boost gauge (don't know which one, any suggestions?), and Topspeed tune.

Should run me about 2G's. What do ya'll think? Anybody runnin these mods?

if you ar not looking for "big name" or "bling"

Try the megan TBE it will save you about $500. Cel fix should be no more than $5. Intake is not a need, try the O2 housing with that money. Get a wideband with the extra $500 you saved on the TBE.

RRIX makes some excellent suggestions.

If anyone even was debating the need for intake, just look at Touringbubbles track times. You don't have to have it.

Also, a XD-16 (the Innovate with the guage) shouldn't be more than $400, The LC-1 is even cheaper, that leaves money for tint, shift knob, HU, radar detector, etc.....

I'm with RRIX.
I got my turboxs turbo-back setup from the used section on evom.net - it works and sounds awesome and hell i pieced it together for around $400 shipped.

For 2g's - i'd get..
used exhaust
megan o2
intercooler pipes (i have the nisei pipes - they kick ass!)
intake (i have the perrin, works but kinda $ sinceyou deff. can do without it!)
mbc
tune - i've been very happy with topspeeds tunes.

FWIW

March Issue of Turbo& Hi-Performance is the beginning of an Evo IX project build.

K&N
Greddy TIC
XS-Eng IC Pipe
XS Flash

Fattened WHP and Torque from idle to fuel cut with a power band of 4800 RPM.

Reading the article it was cheap and only took a day total for instal and flash.
