Saw a new Lancer at the reserve center in Orlando, Thursday.
In the flesh the new lancer looks smaller than the outgoing Lancer. The interior room is about the same and the dash looks like an updated rendition of the outgoing version. Peeking through the window I would say that if Mitsubishi has their sights on the German small luxury sedan market, they need to step it up a bit more. The seat look comfortable with modest side bolsters and the upholstry looks like the rat fur that is on the doors of the IX MR (you now what I'm talking about, don't play dumb). It was an automatic with a stick as well as the paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. I couldn't tell it the shifters rotate with the wheel or are stationary.
This particular car had taken a small shot in the ass and the bumper cover was unclipped at the left tail light. The cover is HUGE! Everything below the rear lights is one piece.
The blue color is new and to my eyes attractive. It's brighter that he blue on the IX and is more eye catching.
I'll test drive one the next time I'm in Miami as the car looks much better in person than in pictures. I really want to see the new Evo now.
