What stage clutch is needed for the bigger turbos (35r, etc.)?

I mean how much clamping force and torque holding capacity do I need?

Would the ACT HDSS hold?

I wouldnt use the ACT HD for anything larger than a 30 series turbo on a factory 2.0 Anything more and I would go with a twin disk.

Like a tilton or an Exedy twin disk clutch. If you were hitting between 500-700 I would go with the twin disk clutch. more than that go with a triple.

Dont buy the Exedy stage 1 off ebay. Big mistake if you bought it as an upgrade. It is just a factory replacement.

If all you were planing on doing is the basic bolt ons, cams and nothing bigger than a 3037r, the stick with the ACT HDSS with the street or prolite flywheel. They seem to take mild to moderate abuse alright.

With a green, an ACT HD is good enough. But if you have the extra on the roll, then by all means get the twin. They are great at holding. almost like an on off switch!
